You should now see the search progress indicator under the search field. If there are other unread messages, you will now see them in the mailbox view pane. If you see the unread continue reading seither click on the message to read it, or right click the email and select Mark as Read.

It fixed itself somehow the next day. The 'unread mail' item at the top didn't indicate any unread messages, but the inbox item indicated 25 unread messages but there were no unread messages displayed in the folder.Did't know there was another Unread Mail folder. Per your instructions, found all of them there.
