Death toll rises to 45 in New York area As New York and surrounding areas continue to evaluate the destruction wrought by Hurricane Ida, the death toll in the region keeps rising. At least 27 people in New Jersey have been confirmed dead after the storm, and another 4 people remain missing in the state, Governor Phil Murphy click Saturday. It filled up to the seats.
